Setting your Instagram account in private mode will allow you to accept people’s requests for following you. That means you’re not visible to all users, and for them to fully see your profile, they need to send you a follow request which you will have to accept or decline.
Although people will be able to see your username and short description you can add, your posts are completely hidden. Following these simple steps, you will easily set your account in private mode.
- Go to Instagram.
- Tap on the person icon, to the lower right-hand corner, in order to be redirected to your Instagram profile.
- Tap on the three vertical dots, to the top right corner. That will open the settings screen.
- Scroll down until you see Private Account and switch that button to On.
This won’t affect your current followers. People who have already followed you previously, will still be able to see any of your posts, without any permission or request whatsoever.
